GOM Software is now ZEISS INSPECT

Same solution, different name

GOM Software is now ZEISS INSPECT

Same solution, different name

The success story of the GOM software has reached the next milestone: Since 2023, our software has a new name: ZEISS INSPECT.

True to the catchphrase ‘Same solution, different name’, the software remains what it is: Your industry standard for metrological inspections and evaluations. What do you use to control your measuring system? What do you use to perform evaluations? What do you use to carry out GD&T analyses? What do you use to create your measuring reports? The answer is always the same, but just with a new name: ZEISS INSPECT.

What's new?

Although our metrology software will be renamed, it will still include all the functions of the GOM software and become even more powerful: This year’s development cycle was dedicated to optimizing and amending analysis functions. With Release 2023, new functions will also be added to ZEISS INSPECT.

ZEISS INSPECT is the core of our metrology software, complemented by industry-specific variants. These variants are pre-configured and immediately ready for use in the relevant application or task. Consequently, GOM Inspect for inspecting and evaluating 3D measuring data will become ZEISS INSPECT Optical 3D. Our specialist GOM Volume Inspect for analyzing volume data will become ZEISS INSPECT X-Ray. GOM Correlate for analyzing movements and deformations will become ZEISS INSPECT Correlate. For customers from the aerospace industry, all the special evaluation features of GOM Blade Inspect will be available in ZEISS INSPECT Airfoil.

That much is clear: The common denominator is ZEISS INSPECT – our metrology software that will be available for all technologies and applications in the future.

What does that mean for you?

Being part of the active user community, you already appreciate the powerful inspection software? Here is the good news: While ZEISS INSPECT will contain the same functions as before and many more on top, it can be used even more flexibly and will be compatible with all measuring systems.

Why the new name?

All software products under the same roof and the same name. We at ZEISS would like to make our product range more flexible and simple for our customers. Our vision is a metrology software that is capable of everything: ZEISS INSPECT. As specialists for optical metrology, we have continuously evolved. With GOM Inspect, we created the keystone of our software portfolio. Little by little, this foundation was amended by other products for special metrological requirements.

Did you know that the current software is based on a complete redevelopment from 2009? This redevelopment was necessary to implement two essential functionalities: the principle of parametric design and the virtual measuring room.

What we know for sure: We can only live up to your challenges if we continuously improve ourselves and our software products. With ZEISS INSPECT, we have this solution for you. With regard to future metrological challenges, the right answer will always be ZEISS INSPECT.

Do you still have any questions?

Different name

Why did you change the name of the GOM software products?
In 2019, the ZEISS Group acquired GOM as a company and integrated it into the division ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions. As a part of ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions, Carl Zeiss GOM Metrology GmbH has increased its powerful technology and software portfolio in the fields of metrology and quality assurance even more. With release 2023, the integration into ZEISS will also become visible in all software products. Our software portfolio is dedicated to make your everyday metrological challenges as easy as possible. To do so, we focus on the ZEISS Quality Suite as the central touch point: Due to the integration of other products throughout the year, it enables you to work seamlessly across products. Next to software products, it also provides to users offers and services in one location, such as direct access to eLearning courses, updates, news and apps. The metrology software ZEISS INSPECT is the core of our ZEISS Quality Suite. It visualizes quality in a simple way and will provide more and more business flexibility in the future. A key advantage is the technological independence: In the future, ZEISS INSPECT will be compatible with all measuring systems – both devices by ZEISS and by other manufacturers. This will considerably reduce the training expenditure.
What is the new name of my product?
Next to a number of developments and new features, the current software release 2023 also provides a uniform name concept for all software products. Each name reflects the respective technology: GOM Inspect becomes ZEISS INSPECT Optical 3D. GOM Volume Inspect becomes ZEISS INSPECT X-Ray. GOM Blade Inspect becomes ZEISS INSPECT Airfoil. GOM Correlate becomes ZEISS INSPECT Correlate.
I do not see the new name yet. What can I do?
Good news for the large user community: With your update to release 2023, the GOM software will be automatically converted to ZEISS INSPECT. You can use the inspection software as usual and do not have to do anything.
Will I have to update my ZEISS Quality Suite?
Yes, please run the ZEISS Quality Suite update available with software release 2023. You can then log in and install ZEISS INSPECT.
What is the setup of the new product model?
There will be the ZEISS INSPECT Viewer for viewing projects. For editing these, there will be Free and Pro licenses for the different product variants of ZEISS INSPECT, which can be used flexibly.

Same solution

ZEISS INSPECT – What's new?
Equipped with a new name and new functions, the new metrology software will continue to cover the entire workflow from the measurement through to final result report. ZEISS INSPECT remains the industry standard for inspections and evaluations.
GOM software becomes ZEISS INSPECT. What does that mean for me as a user?
As part of the active user community, you already appreciate the powerful inspection software? The good news is: While ZEISS INSPECT has the same functions, it can be configured more flexibly as of now.
