New ATOS ScanBox available for automated scanning of large or heavy parts

01/2013The ATOS ScanBox 6130 is now available for scanning parts larger than 2 m and/or up to 2000 kg in weight. The new ATOS ScanBox 6130 allows simple loading with cranes, forklifts or palette trucks and a specially designed loading system for quick, repeatable, accurate positioning of parts and components.

The ATOS ScanBox 6130 further extends the successful ATOS ScanBox product line. The ATOS ScanBox is a standard in automated metrology, replacing custom project measuring cells in many automation projects and applications. The ATOS ScanBox is an industrial measuring cell for fully automated 3D digitizing and inspection. The ATOS ScanBox combines optimized industrial components, mobility and highest safety in an off-the-shelf, ready-to-scan 3D measuring machine.

The ATOS ScanBox now is available in 3 models for automated measurement and inspection of parts up to 3 m in size.

The ATOS ScanBox 6130 has been developed to support the digitizing process for larger parts. The ATOS ScanBox 6130 allows simple loading with cranes, forklifts or palette trucks by removing all doors and any obstacles. Safety remains highest priority and the ATOS ScanBox offers high-end protection to ensure both operator and hardware safety.

In addition, the ATOS ScanBox 6130 features a specially developed loading system for quick, repeatable, accurate positioning of parts and components allowing:

  • High throughput: Parts can be prepared in advance on multiple palettes while ATOS ScanBox is in use avoiding the need for complicated multiple rotation tables
  • Fast change overs: Exchange of parts is sped up due to simple loading and unloading of parts
  • Maximum part safety: Parts can be very accurately positioned within the ATOS ScanBox even with heavy industrial loading equipment such as cranes or forklifts
