Feature highlights of the newly published GOM software V7.5 SR1

With its latest software version, GOM offers a broad array of new function developments which improve the efficiency of the measurement process, making inspection and analysis faster and easier.

GOM strives to further develop and improve its software functions on an ongoing basis. During development of the GOM software V7.5 SR1, we focused on the following main topics from a user standpoint to ensure that the software solution we offer is precisely what our users need. The new functions in V7.5 comprise:

Blade Inspection

ATOS is already being used successfully for blade inspection. Instead of creating a new module, several functions specifically designed for blade inspection have been added to GOM's software solutions, so that no additional costs are incurred. Thanks to their full interaction with all evaluation functions as well as with GOM's parametric inspection, the version offers complete process mapping, from the initial measurement to full evaluation and creation of the measurement report. The current version provides new functions for turbine blade inspection based, for example, on 2D sections such as determining the profile mean line, the profile centroid or the profile twist, as well as numerous new analysis options.


ATOS is a stereo camera system and uses GOM's proven dynamic referencing for maximum precision. In the latest version of the software, GOM supports new applications in the ATOS system environment in addition to the digitizing process. With its Tracking work area, the software offers various online tracking options. For example, components can be aligned to their target position and thus enable online positioning within an assembly. Additionally, tools can be positioned within specified tolerances and individual elements projected/marked on the real physical components.

Curve based Inspection

The V7.5 SR1 software from GOM now also closes the gap between point-based and full-field inspections. Full-field digitized data is used to apply new construction functions for curves and to visualize individual features. This achieves a high information density with simple representation. Simplified derivation of point-based evaluations is now also possible. The new version of the GOM software makes it extremely easy to implement various evaluation functions such as flush and gap analysis, spring-back analysis, inspection of form and character lines, radius analysis and evaluation of hemmed edges.

Virtual Measuring Room

Simpler, standardized workflows help achieve a faster and securer VMR. The current version of the GOM software has a single button for complex measurement cell programming. This means greater reliability and also saves a lot of time. Access to key functions such as the use of Teach commands as well as robot configurations or movements is now easy, thanks to the new I-Teach tool. In addition, the software offers new application functions for processing multiple measurement positions. The mirror, duplicate and transform functions can be used to accelerate the work process and hence optimize performance.


Deformation analysis has been fully integrated in the new software concept and is now available as a standard package. GOM has standardized the function base for deformation analysis with the TRITOP measurement system and full parametric inspection. The new functions make it possible to perform climate change tests as well as structure tests, and much more besides. Other useful functions, which include measuring and visualizing deformations, phase management and trend analysis as well as alignment & rigid body motion compensation can also be implemented with the V7.5 SR1 software.
