The focus of the event was on 3D digitizing systems from GOM. The multiple applications of GOM 3D scanners allow for an optimum use in the casting and forging industries. Therefore, many representatives of these industries, including Nemak, Montiac, Martin Rea, Comimsa, Ruhrpumpen and Grupo Quimmco, took part in the workshop.
CIM Co. presented the ATOS Triple Scan, the ATOS Compact Scan and the ATOS Core. These GOM sensors are ideal measurement solutions in casting and forging processes, as they provide fast and precise measuring data and accelerate the entire measuring process. Thus, these sensors help to optimize and simplify the entire workflow. In addition to 3D digitizing systems, the focus was on the current V8 software with its new application solutions. It increases the efficiency of inspection tasks, thus ensuring greater time savings as well as increasing process reliability and repeatability.
The broad range of ATOS systems was demonstrated in user presentations by Mecklenburger Metallguss GmbH, Trimet Aluminium and Raskopf GmbH. Our distributor CIM Co. reported on its experiences with GOM measuring systems. Topics such as shorter measurement and inspection times and resulting cost savings were examined.
Moreover, CIM Co. illustrated different applications of GOM systems in various live demonstrations. These applications included the virtual assembly analysis of molds and cores, tracking, multiple evaluations of identically designed parts as well as automated inspection and trend analysis.
We would like to thank CIM Co. for the successful workshop and are already looking forward to the next event.
