GOM launches new V8 Software

07/2014GOM is launching the new GOM V8 Software for ATOS, TRITOP, PONTOS, GOM Inspect and GOM Inspect Professional with a range of new features for 3D measurement and 3D inspection.

As with previous versions of the V8 Software, GOM offers new software functionalities that are optimally coordinated and aligned to meet current market requirements and customer needs.

The Highlights of the new GOM V8 Software include:

  • Local Coordinate Systems
New creation possibilities for local coordinate systems, allowing local dimensioning and extended GD&T analysis as well as application-specific alignments and 6DoF analysis
  • Timeline
Graphical user interface integrated in standard GOM project structure, helping to manage multiple stage projects such as for SPC and deformation analysis
  • PONTOS Live
Live add-on module for ATOS Professional and stand-alone PONTOS Live application for live object tracking, online part positioning, touch probe measurement as well as online deformation and motion analysis of 3D coordinates
  • Triple Scan V8
Enhanced Triple Scan functionality for further improved data quality and faster teaching processes
  • Virtual Measuring Room V8
New workspace for VMR, including Auto-Teaching functionality, reducing teaching times and removing the requirement for specific robot programming skills

In conjunction with the release of the GOM V8 Software, we are running a series of webinars to give you an introduction to the new software functionalities:

  • Webinar: V8 Inspection
    July 17, 2014 at 09:00 and 18:00 (CEST)
Local coordinate systems, local dimensioning and GD&T, new concept for templates, styles and skins, overview explorer, new search function, golden mesh
  • Webinar: V8 Deformation Analysis with GOM Inspect Professional
    July 24, 2014 at 09:00 and 18:00 (CEST)
Stage import from v6.3, timeline concept, component definition, alignments and rigid body compensation, 6DOF analysis, reporting
  • Webinar: V8 Automation Workflows
    July 31, 2014 at 09:00 and 18:00 (CEST)
New workspace for VMR, Auto-Teaching, parameter assignment, trend projects

Each webinar will take approximately one hour and will be held in English twice on each day. Register for the webinars here.

GOM recommends a license update for registered users who want to benefit from new software capabilities, including an increase in efficiency of the measurement process and an acceleration and simplification of the subsequent inspection. As of July 18, 2014, you can update your license from V7.5 to V8 via https://www.gom.com.
