On March 26 - 30, 2013, 400 teachers from the VEC Institute attended the workshop to develop the design for a fuel cell car. Mentel was the main sponsor of the event and, on the first two days, presented ATOS II and the GOM Inspect software. The remaining three days Mentel focused on the flexibility, user friendliness and powerful functions of ATOS Triple Scan.
The VEC Hydrogen Energy Racing Vehicle project allows students and their lecturers to design, assemble and produce alternative energy racing cars as well as apply reverse engineering and quality control to their processes. This project was launched this year, 2013. The main aim is to improve and develop knowledge and skills of students and lecturers.
During the 5-day workshop visitors were able to follow a presentation agenda that covered typical application areas within the vehicle development process and were given detailed information about the GOM products.
In addition to the presentations, the workshop also offered live demonstrations – Mentel showed how the ATOS system can be usefully deployed for car design, optimizing the development process in order to save time as well as money. Participants were given a very precise picture of the GOM technology and received all the answers to their specific questions on design development, optimization and inspection of the individual parts of a vehicle prototype.
Beside this, participants obtained valuable information about the powerful GOM Inspect software, for example how to generate high-quality reports, and, received instructions on how to use of the user-friendly interface in order to perform 3D inspection analyses.
The objective of the marketing event was to familiarize the VEC teaching staff with the ATOS solution and its powerful functions for reverse engineering and quality controll processes.
