3D scanning of molds used for investment casting at Moules et Outillages de Bourgogne

With its new optical 3D scanner, the company Moules et Outillages de Bourgogne has improved its production processes and diversified its business to include novel inspection services for its customers.

Since March 2018, Moules et Outillages de Bourgogne has been using the ATOS II Triple Scan 3D digitizer to scan metal parts and reverse engineer all existing parts. The company has also used the 3D scanner to offer its customers novel services for their development projects of parts used in the investment casting process. Optical 3D measuring systems like the ATOS Triple Scan 3D digitizer are able to capture the entire surface of all parts inspected by Moules et Outillages de Bourgogne. “It’s an extremely clever system that requires hardly any adjusting. The risk of error is reduced and it’s fast at taking measurements so we get our results back quicker,” explains Didier Simon, 3D Printing Manager.

Moules et Outillages de Bourgogne is extremely pleased with the flexibility the 3D scanner provides when it comes to using different measurement volumes and how easy it is to use. The 3D scanner has helped deliver the speed and responsiveness expected of them from their customers.
