What is GOM Correlate

GOM Correlate is a digital image correlation (DIC) and evaluation software for materials research and component testing.

GOM Software certified by PTB and NIST

In order to ensure precise measurement accuracy, both GOM Correlate Professional and GOM Correlate software have been tested and certified by PTB and NIST institutions. The accuracy of the evaluation software is tested by comparing the results from the software with reference results. The GOM software has been placed in Category 1, the category with the smallest measurement deviations.

What´s new

Efficient, Process-Based Python Interpreter

Fast and simplified data access for complex scientific calculations with Python, use of free Python libraries in the GOM software.

Improved Representation of Deviations in the 3D View

Plastic representation of deformations and depressions increases in the 3D image as well as even faster and easier interpretation of the results.

Open Data Exchange

Fast export of elements such as sections, curves and coordinate systems can be done via one or more steps as CSV or XML file.

New additional GOM Software Features

Online measuring volume

The online measuring volume can be displayed in the GOM Software 2018 to make it easier to position the specimen in the measuring volume optimally.

Enhancements for the ARAMIS Kiosk Interface for material tests

The GOM Software 2018 offers further templates for standardized test methods, such as tensile, bulge and FLC tests. Other repeatable test methods and project templates can be configured freely and integrated into the simplified user interface.

Enhancements for point components

Several point components, for example, from measurements of a test from different directions, can now be combined into one region and used for rigid body motion compensation.

Efficient, process-based Python interpreter

The GOM Software 2018 offers fast and simplified data access for complex scientific computations and enables the import of freely available Python libraries, such as NumPy, SciPy and Matplotlib.

Open data exchange

The CSV and XML export now supports the export of several stages and further elements (for example, sections, curves and coordinate systems) and was further optimized in terms of speed, among others.

Excessive representation of deviations in the 3D view

In addition to the colored deviation representation, deformations, such as bulges and dents, can be visualized excessively and thus more clearly.

Video tutorials offer an introduction to the GOM Correlate software features.

User Interface

This first tutorial gives you an overview of the graphical user interface including 3D view, timeline and reporting. It briefly introduces all major software concepts.

Image Acquisition

This video shows you how to prepare objects, how to capture images and finally how to import the images into the software.

2D Evaluation

The third episode guides you through a typical evaluation workflow. It gives you an insight on component definitions, alignments, strain checks and reporting.

3D Surface Components

This video covers alignments to CAD, displacements and strain, stage ranges, sections and point wise inspections, as well as working with diagrams.

3D Point Components

This tutorial explains 3D motion analysis. The video covers vector fields, rigid body motion compensation and shows you how to inspect construction elements, such as angles.

The last tutorial gives you a more detailed insight in all reporting options, like updating report pages, working with templates and export of reports.

Component Analysis

This sample project shows a full-field analysis of a 3D component. The aim of this project is to analyze strain and displacement on the component's surface with the approach of digital image correlation (DIC). Further evaluations with sections and points are also implemented to see local effects.

GOM_Testing_Object_Component.gcorrelate (199 MB)

Motion Analysis

This project is an example for a dynamic motion analysis. It gives an overview of employing point components to analyze relative motion and displacement. Inspections like vector fields, the 6DoF evaluation and relative angle changes are included.

GOM_Testing_Object_Motion_Analysis.gcorrelate (182 MB)

Materials Testing

This sample project shows a full field strain analysis of a flat punched hole specimen under uniaxial loading conditions. It demonstrates very local strain effects around the hole which are analyzed on the full surface of the specimen and displayed by sections.

GOM_Testing_Object_Material.gcorrelate (206 MB)

Static Deformation

This project is a static analysis of an automotive plastic part under different loading conditions. For every loading condition, it shows the direction and magnitude of displacements in 3D space. The measuring data is aligned to a CAD model to use the directions of the coordinate system for inspections.

FEM Comparison

This example shows a typical real load case by means of a 3D part. The software is able to perform a full-field analysis even of very small deformations, which forms the basis for dimension checks. The visualization of the strain distribution allows evaluating local effects. The measured values serve for a full-field and quantitative comparison against FE simulation data.
