Virtual Measuring Room
Real environment in a virtual simulation
The virtual measuring room is the central control and measurement planning software for all elements of the ATOS measuring cells. In it the real environment is functionally represented in a virtual simulation. It consists of a robot with one sensor, the programming, including the kinematics of the robot paths, the part and the measurement plan. With the Professional Module of the GOM Inspect Suite, the VMR enables automatic measuring procedures to be executed. Thanks to the VMR, the user does not need any special robot expertise. All robot movements are simulated in the virtual measuring room before execution and checked for safety.

Your Benefits
Auto Teaching and Smart Teach
The Auto Teaching function in VMR computes the required sensor positions for all inspection characteristics and CAD surfaces. The subsequent path optimization improves the order of the positions regarding runtime and collision avoidance. Auto Teaching minimizes the time required to create process-safe and runtime-optimized robot programs. With Smart Teach, the system automatically updates measurement positions if the CAD or individual elements change.
Inspection Planning
The CAD data set is imported together with the corresponding measurement plan. The measuring principles stored in the measuring plan are automatically assigned to the inspection characteristics from the measuring plan. The measurement report can also be prepared in advance offline. The real measurement results can be displayed after the measuring procedure. This makes it easier for the user to plan the inspection.
Burn-in
The offline created measuring programs are run in the ATOS ScanBox once by an automated process. The robot moves to the measuring positions and determines the individual measuring parameters such as exposure times on the real part. Using a special process, the software automatically detects part reflections and adjusts the fringe projection accordingly to avoid measurement errors caused by reflections.
Series measurement
Finished measuring programs can be used for the testing of further parts. The robot is completely controlled by the software and moves through the measuring positions one after the other. During each measurement, it is checked whether the results meet the quality criteria. Changes in the data status from the CAD or the measurement plan can be quickly updated by the parametric software.
