Advanced Training

GOM’s advanced training courses provide in-depth background information on specific topics. Participants have the possibility to gain a deeper insight into the GOM software and to learn advanced functions for their applications. Participating in an advanced training course requires basic knowledge acquired in the preceding training courses.

Product Training for Advanced Users

The two-day training course teaches all of the concepts and operating methods required to work with the Virtual Measuring Room. ATOS Professional VMR or GOM Inspect Professional VMR software is required.

At the end of the training participants are able to:

  • Operate the virtual measuring room
  • Align CAD models in the virtual measuring room
  • Reproducibly position measuring objects
  • Teach the robot using different methods, e.g. manually, fully automatically
  • Optimize robot paths
  • Create virtual measurement series
  • Create VMR project templates
  • Manage measuring setups, measure bottom surfaces
  • Teaching fixtures, photogrammetry
  • Use an ATOS sensor with photogrammetry camera in the VMR
  • Real moving measuring in the VMR

Prerequisites: Successful completion of ATOS Professional System Basic Training

Target group: Users of ATOS ScanBox or automated project cells and ATOS Professional VMR or GOM Inspect Professional VMR

Certificate: Automation VMR

The concept of scripting is based on a macro recorder that can record all operations executed in the software. The two-day training course provides users who have experience in the software-based evaluation of 3D objects with an introduction to the basics of script recording. In addition, reworking and expansion of the script, access to element values of the project and creation of user-defined dialogs also form part of the training course. Scripting can be used in all Professional software versions.

The following topics will be discussed:

  • Arithmetic data types and calculations
  • Simple text modification with strings
  • Conditional execution and loop statements
  • The structured data types list and tuple
  • Functions and structuring of scripts
  • Simple file operations
  • Recording and modifying scripts
  • Overview of the tools of the script editor
  • Accessing element values of the project from the script
  • Creating user-defined graphical dialogs

Prerequisites: Successful completion of the inspection module of one of the basic training courses, knowledge of programming vocabulary, basic command of English

Target group: Users who are experienced in evaluating 3D objects in a GOM Professional software

The Kiosk Interface is an integral component of the ATOS Professional software that automatically realizes the entire procedure of measuring projects based on a template. It can be used in combination with all automated ATOS system solutions. The scripting interface allows individual modifications.

During the one-day training course, participants learn the basics of the Kiosk Interface. In addition, the training deals with modifications and enhancements of the user interface.

At the end of the training participants are able to:

    • Set up the Kiosk Interface using the Setup script
    • Configure the Kiosk Interface
    • Set up Kiosk users
    • Adjust the Kiosk Interface using the scripting interface
    • Expand exports via scripting and the CustomPatchGenerator script
    • Use advanced file operations in scripts
