Training Webinar - 2D and 3D Image Correlation in Materials and Components Testing

Deformation analyses are essential in the field of material and component development. Displacements, strains and specified parameters of materials are captured with mono and stereo camera systems. The resulting 2D or 3D measuring data can be analyzed in GOM Correlate. GOM Correlate allows both digital image correlation (DIC) and motion analysis.

While 2D measurements only determine coordinates within a plane, 3D measurement images can be used to inspect specimens and components of any shape and in motion. Which other differences are related to both optical measuring systems regarding the measuring setup is shown in this webinar.

  • Characteristics of 2D and 3D measuring data
  • Limitations of 2D measurements (e. g. objective distortion, strain and displacement errors (out-of-plane errors) caused by distance changes between the camera and the specimen)

The webinar will take approximately 45 minutes and will be held in English and German.
