Proceedings: International GOM Workshop Series
From January to April 2017, over 1,000 experts from the fields of development, quality assurance and production took part in the GOM workshop series. In Asia, Europe and America, 35 companies shared their experiences with 3D metrology.
Results of the GOM workshop series “3D Metrology in Sheet Metal Forming Processes”
- Quality control in production: 80 % time saving compared to tactile metrology
- Virtual assembly: Optical measuring systems are replacing Meisterbock and Cubing
- Forming analysis: Accelerated try-out in the press shop
Customer presentations from 15 countries
As the international workshop series has come to an end, the complete material including customer presentations, application examples and application videos, brochures as well as an industry insight is available for download. The material includes experience reports in English and the local language from companies such as Amada, Audi, BYD, GE Appliances, Gestamp, Metalsa, Skoda, Tajco, Tanaka, Tata Steel, United Technologies and Volkswagen.
On a regular basis, GOM organizes industry-specific workshops for the sheet metal forming, injection molding and casting industries as well as for materials and components testing. The global GOM network established these international event series to transfer process-related and metrological knowledge to design engineers, tool makers as well as specialists from production and quality assurance around the world. The workshops show how improvements in production chains and quality assurance as well as time and cost savings can be achieved with optical measuring systems.
Besides user presentations of vivid practical application examples and an exchange of experiences, participants gain an insight into suitable systems for their own specific needs. Furthermore, GOM presents the latest developments in 3D metrology as well as in inspection software and reporting.
