With the new release ( version 5.4), GOM provides also a 64 bit version of the software. GOM is the only manufacturer of optical measuring systems who is able to offer such an advanced version as our software is based upon the stable Linux operating system platform. 64 bit PCs are able to handle a large amount of RAM (up to 16 GB). An optimized memory management enables the software to address the complete RAM and thus to process even heavy datasets. Thus, it is possible to handle for example 50 million 3D points using 64 bit PCs with 8 GB of RAM. Additionally, 64 bit PCs provide faster computation for all processing steps.
